Koch earns scholarship
Carsyn Koch, a senior at Washburn District High School, will be the recipient of a $5,000 scholarship from the Maine Sports Hall of Fame during induction ceremonies to take place May 4 in Augusta.
Koch is one of five scholar-athletes from throughout the state being recognized.
Koch, the daugher of Peter and Liane Koch of Washburn, is a four-time individual Class D cross-country champion, has also played on three state championship basketball teams and was a member of the 2013 Class D state champion Beaver soccer team. She has also won several individual state track and field titles during her career and carries a grade-point average of 98.41 and is first in a class of 32.
