PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Maine School Boards Association recently recognized the nurses of SAD 1 with the 2021 Distinguished Service Award for their efforts to keep the Presque Isle schools safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
SAD 1 nurses Deidre Clark, Lisa McKenna, Jenny McPherson, Shelby Miller and Jennifer
Tompkins were all presented with the awards by SAD 1 school board Chair and Maine School Board Association President Lucy Richard on Friday, Jan. 7.
“We are very appreciative of the efforts of our district nurses during this challenging time period. Our nurses have worked tirelessly over the past two school years through communicating with families, contact tracing, and caring for individuals not feeling well. Our nurses are hardworking and professional and deserving of this recognition” said Ben Greenlaw, SAD 1superintendent.
