115 Years Ago – Jan. 24, 1907
Ending one job to start another — Robt. McLellan, mail carrier on route number one, has resigned his position, and, it is understood, will enter into business with L.J. Sherwood. Mr McLellan has many friends on his route who will be sorry to hear of his resignation.
Returned from New York City — J.H. Glenn returned Monday from New York City where he had been in attendance at the automobile show.
100 Years Ago – Jan. 26, 1922
Food sale — The food sale in Geo. Ritchie’s drug store Saturday afternoon given by the Willing Workers class was well patronized. The proceeds go toward the fund this class is raising to furnish a room in the new Cary Memorial Hospital.
Taking on more work — Miss Bessie McEougal, who was long the efficient chief clerk in the insurance office of H. O. Perry & Son, has been appointed agent for the various insurance companies heretofore represented by the late Chadbourne W. Perry. The patrons of this company may expect the same courteous service from this company in the future that they have received in the past.
75 Years Ago – Jan. 23, 1947
Selected queen at Winter Carnival — Announcement was made Saturday of the choice among 13 candidates for queen of the winter carnival to be stages here February 13-14 and 15, of Miss Constance Thibodeau who was Miss Caribou in the try for queen honors at the Potato Blossom Festival in Houlton last July. Earl Munson, a returned war veteran, was selected to take the part of king.
New manager named — Arthur J. Ouellette, Caribou, was named to succeed Russell Arnts, who resigned as manager of the Vaughan House at the annual meeting of the directors of the Caribou Hotel Corporation held Tuesday.

Retiring — Visiting Nurses of Aroostook outgoing board of directors president David Dunlavey presents a recognition plaque to retiring board member Harley York Jr. for nine years of service to the agency and its board.
New business — Precision Builders on Sweden Street in Caribou is looking forward to a good year as it officially gets its start. John Lancaster, First-Vice President of the Chamber; Karen Chapman, President of the Chamber; Joyce Knorr of the Chamber; Laura Ostlund and her daughter Megan Ostlund; Brian Ostlund, owner and operator of ‘Precision Builders;’ Rod Mahan and Rob Keiffer, Directors at the Chamber, were all on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
