LITTLETON, Maine – The Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum is a glimpse into the farming practices and lifestyles of yesteryear.
But that does not mean a little bit of new technology cannot be added to the mix.
Condon Signs of Mapleton recently installed a new electronic sign by Daktronics at the entrance of the museum driveway. It replaces the sign that has greeted guests for the last 22 years.
The previous sign featured letters that had to be manually changed, which could be a daunting task during the harsh winter conditions.
At a cost of $30,000, this project was supported by individual donations, a grant from Rural Development and Sloat’s Fabrication of Houlton.
It not only advertises information about the museum, but also notices for the Town of Littleton.
Some of the upcoming events will be a roast beef supper on April 23, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Greater Houlton Christian Academy supper on May 21 and a community wide yard sale for the Littleton Playground Fund on June 17 and 18th.
