Sperry, Millard Guilford, 82, of Presque Isle, died September 16, 2007 at a Mars Hill health care facility. Funeral services will be conductede 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will take place followiong the service at Johnson Cemetery in Presque Isle. Arrangements in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home.
PRESQUE ISLE – Millard G. Sperry, 82, died Sunday, September 16, 2007 at a Mars Hill health-care facility. He was born September 30, 1924 in Perham the son of Guilford and Inez (Dodge) Sperrey.
Millard worked as a machinist for many years in California and Rhode Island. He was a longtime member of the Washburn Pentecostal Church. He made and sold Sperry Doughnuts to local grocery stores for many years.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Brown Sperry of Mars Hill, a daughter Donna Towne and her husband Marvin of Milo, five brothers, Atwood Sperrey and his wife Dorothy of Washburn, Everett Sperry and his wife Barbara of Caribou, Daryl Sperrey and his wife Lydia of Washburn, Dalton Sperrey and his wife Elizabeth of Taveres, FL, a sister Glenna Sperrey of Monticello, step-son Larry Brown and his wife Paula of Presque Isle, step-daughter Brenda True and her husband David of New Hampshire, five grandchildren, two step- grandchildren, thirteen great- grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Delores Sperry of Caribou, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a wife Pauline (Churchill) Sperry and a brother Gardiner Sperry.
Friends called 7-9 P.M. Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be conducted 1 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Blakney officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Johnson Cemetery in Presque Isle.
