PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – The girls and boys varsity basketball staff at Presque Isle High School are offering their 28th annual basketball clinic for any interested SAD 1 student.
All girls and boys presently in grades 2-7 for this 2021-2022 school year are encouraged to attend. New this year, the staff is also welcoming all girls and boys presently in grades K-1.
The camp is open to experienced players as well as to those with no basketball experience.
The clinic directors will be girls varsity coach Krystal Flewelling and boys varsity coach Dillon Kingsbury. The staff will include coaches from Presque Isle High School along with present and former players from the varsity teams.
The camp will be held June 13-17 at Presque Isle High School. Those currently in grades K-1 will meet from 4-5 p.m.; those in grades 2-4 meet from 5-7 p.m. and those in grades 5-7 meet from 7-9 p.m.
The cost for those in grades K-1 is $35 per student, while the other sessions are $65 per student; $120 for two individuals; $165 for three or more (all in the same household).
Interested participants may pre-register at the PIHS Athletic Office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday-Friday or may register on June 13, up to 30 minutes before the camp begins in the athletic office entryway. Please pay by cash or make checks payable to MSAD 1. Students may not participate without a signed permission form, which also serves as proof of insurance.
Fundamentals in all phases of basketball will be stressed. There will be basketball drills, individual games, as well as regular basketball games. There will also be an emphasis on sportsmanship and having fun as they learn the game of basketball.
