NEW LIMERICK, Maine — Two Oakland residents were arrested on drug charges Saturday, while a third person was charged with trespassing following an incident at a New Limerick camp.
Sgt. Chad Fuller of the Maine State Police said a neighboring resident reported to police that a car drove into a camp at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and soon started banging on the property. Police investigated and found two men and two women at the camp.
None of the people had permission to be there, police said.
During the investigation, it was discovered that three out of the four people at the property were either on pre-trial, probation or had active bail conditions. A usable amount of suspected crack cocaine was also located on one of the women, who also had a warrant for her arrest.
The woman initially told the trooper that she had permission to be there for the weekend. The investigation revealed that this was not accurate.
Drug paraphernalia was observed in the vehicle and one of the men was searched and found to be in possession of a large amount of suspected crack cocaine and approximately two baggies of suspected Fentanyl along with drug paraphernalia.
Andrew Tompkins, 42, of Oakland was charged with trafficking in Schedule W drugs, possession of Schedule W drugs and violating conditions of release. Nicole Taylor, 39, of Oakland was charged with possession of a Schedule W drug and violating conditions of release.
Talline Blakeflee, 41, of Winslow was summoned for trespassing. The fourth person was not identified by police.
All four people were also given criminal trespass notices for the property in New Limerick. Tompkins and Taylor were later released on bail.
