The Ashland Adult Education program will be hosting a Maine Driving Dynamics (MDD) course Saturday, sponsored by the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety and in partnership with local and regional adult education organizations.

The MDD course is a Maine sponsored five-hour defensive driving course which offers all drivers the opportunity to improve their defensive driving abilities. The course includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine’s highways. The course is taught by a certified MDD instructor in a format that engages students with lectures, videos and class discussion, and participation.
Those completing the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record, and students age 55 and older can receive an insurance discount with their insurer.
The class is being held at the Ashland District School Saturday, March 29 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. The cost of the course is $40 per participant which includes a $5 registration fee, and all course material is provided. Students over the age of 65 pay $10. Make-up classes are $5 per student. Pre-approval is required for make-up classes.
