Presque Isle girls win rec tournament

   The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department girls’ travel basketball team captured the championship in the County Tournament, held March 8 in Fort Fairfield.

    Presque Isle topped Caribou in the championship game, 29-16. The Wildcats used a 12-2 run in the second quarter to break open a close game. Alana Legassie had 13 points to lead PI, while Madison Stratton fired in six points and Susi added four for Caribou.
Legassie joined Paige McHatten on the all-tournament team.
Legassie had 19 points and 13 rebounds in the team’s three games of the tourney, while McHatten contributed 10 points and 17 boards.
Also chipping in during the course of the day were Kacie Chapman with 16 points, Taylor Guerrette with eight, Lizzy Nadeau with four and Anna Trombley, Elise Nelson, Rhylee Kinney and Hattie Bubar each with two.
