This past week on the Central Aroostook Humane Society’s Facebook page, we asked everyone to show us some loved rescued pets. We said, “Share a picture and make our day.”
Well, within one day, we were up to 43 comments with wonderful photos of pets from all over The County.
There was a pretty kitty named Skittles and a lovable boy named Archie; Tucker, a 10-year-old Lab who loves pontoon rides; and a handsome 18-year-old cat named Gizmo. Dux is described as one of the best dogs ever. He just turned 14 and is a great nap buddy. We had to chuckle over a rescued dog named Ben. In his photo he was sprawled across a couch on his back with paws high in the air. Another sweet kitty, Darwin, was adopted into his forever home 14 years ago.
There are so many beautiful pets, and owners shared so many amazing photos and stories. We truly do celebrate all the loving families that come into our shelter and find room in their homes and hearts for these wonderful pets.
We are very grateful for the amazing employees who work at the Central Aroostook Humane Society. Their jobs are not easy, and sometimes they will deal with situations that would break your heart. But they give every animal that comes through their doors not only the medical attention needed, but they provide a safe and loving temporary home until that special someone shows up to adopt them.
Shakepaws.com reminds us, “Rescue pets need to be spoiled to the point they never remember the times they were not loved.” Special thanks to all who shared their “happy ending” stories with us, and sent us the wonderful photos as well.
