HODGDON, Maine – The Hodgdon boys and girls soccer teams hosted Easton last Thursday, with the Hawks splitting on the day.
The Hodgdon girls picked up a 3-0 shutout, while the Hodgdon/East Grand boys squad fell to the visiting Bears 3-0.
In the girls contest, Hodgdon (3-2) jumped to a quick 2-0 first half lead as Meghan Peters converted a penalty kick and Ella Suitter chipped in a solo goal. In the second half, Gracie Little added an insurance goal on another penalty kick for the Hawks.
In the boys game, it was Easton who emerged victorious in the 3-0 shutout. The Bears (8-1) received goals from Owen Sweeney, Ryder Cochran and Blake King.
Easton goalie Zack Pelletier had three saves on five shots, while Hodgdon keepers Drew Duttweiler and Derek Golding combined to make 12 saves on 22 shots.
With the loss, the Hawks fell to 2-4 on the year.
