Many of you have been asking about our super popular “Toast to the Animals” celebration. After several COVID-19 cancellations and not being able to host this great fundraiser, we are finally ready to celebrate the animals once again and help support the Central Aroostook Humane Society.
Our plan was to hold the event in October, but with unforeseen delays in the new venue we had agreed to use, we are excited to be holding an early spring event on Saturday, April 29, 2023. After a long and cold winter, we think that everyone will be anxious to enjoy a night out, celebrate the furry friends in our lives, enjoy wine and beer samplings, good food and live music. We will once again collect many amazing silent auction items as well. Be sure to mark your calendars for next April 29 and come out and help us celebrate the animals.
One important event that will be happening in the next month or two is the return of Jordan’s Way. Kris Rotonda and his team have agreed to return to the Central Aroostook Humane Society. They visited in a very spur-of-the-moment trip up to The County last year on their quest to visit shelters in all 48 of the continental United States, helping them to raise money through Facebook Live feeds.
We had very little notice — literally a couple of days to get the word out — but so many of our supporters logged onto the four-hour Facebook event and helped us raise just over $15,000. We are so very excited to have them returning. We will share their story, details and their mission in future articles.
With the cooler temperatures rolling in after this beautiful summer, keep in mind that you need to make adjustments when your pets are outside. Make sure that you have a proper shelter for pets to get out of the wind and rain (and soon to be snow). Water can start freezing, so make sure to have fresh clean water every day.
The best option for any cat or dog is to be inside where it is dry, warm and safe….. Preferably cuddled up next to you.
Stop by the Central Aroostook Humane Society if you are looking for a new furry family member, or check us out on Facebook.
Please be responsible pet owners: spay and neuter.
