HOTHAM, Maxine M., 85, PRESQUE ISLE, April 4, 2014. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery, later this spring. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
PRESQUE ISLE – Maxine M. Hotham, 85, passed away Friday morning April 4, 2014, at her residence and is now with her Savior Jesus Christ and is reunited with her husband and family. She was born on Feb. 22, 1929, in Castle Hill, the daughter of Ralph and Mildred (Belyea) Griffin.
Maxine and her husband, Richard, farmed many years in Westfield. She worked most recently at Kelley’s Fabric Care in Presque Isle. Maxine was a member of Calvary Baptist in Westfield for many years teaching Sunday School and good news clubs and in later years attended New Life Baptist Church. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and doing crossword puzzles. She loved her dog, Lilly, and the cats, Cuddles and Oreo. She will be greatly missed by many and loved all her family, always with great faith.
She is survived by three sons, Gary and his wife, Karen of Laurel, MD, David of Presque Isle, Brian and his wife, Bonnie of Presque Isle; a daughter, Judy Hotham Aliberti and her husband, Joe of Fountain Hills, AZ; a brother, Ralph Griffin of Orrington; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Maxine was predeceased by her husband, Richard Hotham in 2002; a brother, Vaughn Griffin and a sister, Virginia Beal.
Friends called 2-3 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services were at 3 p.m., with Pastor Joseph Mortland officiating.
