CARIBOU, Maine — Caribou High School took part in the State of Maine Official Mock Election on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
Students from around the state cast their ballots in the virtual version of the unofficial election.
The results from Caribou High School were as follows.
Governor: First place, Paul LePage with 93 votes; second place, Janet Mills with 65 votes; and third place, Kaleb Poitras (write-in) with 49 votes.
Maine House of Representatives: First place, Jared Golden with 78 votes; second place, Bruce Poliquin with 71 votes; and third place, Tiffany Bond with 43 votes.
Caribou High School aims to educate students on the voting system and encourage democratic participation. Officials thanked students for voting.
