PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Hope & Justice Project Board of Directors has announced they have chosen Courtney Chasse of Madawaska to serve as the project’s next executive director.
Chasse has been with the project for 21 years, providing advocacy services primarily in the St. John Valley.
“Courtney brings a wealth of experience and great energy to this position, and we are excited to support her as she leads the efforts of the project into the future,” project officials said.
Chasse follows Patricia Smith, who retired last month after 22 years with the project, the last seven years as executive director.
The board selected a hiring committee to interview a number of candidates, including current employees and those hoping to join the organization. The board unanimously approved Chasse’s appointment and Chasse began her new role at the end of August.
The Hope & Justice Project’s mission is to serve the needs of victims and survivors of domestic, dating and sexual abuse and violence, and to work with the community to end this abuse in Aroostook County.
