The Easton High School Senior Class invites you to the Senior Play entitled “Write Me a Murder,” a comedy and mystery written by Michael Druce.
(Produced in special arrangement with Hever Publishing LLL of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.) The show will take place on Friday, April 18, at 7 p.m. at the Easton Elementary School gym. The cost is $4 for adults and $2 for seniors.
Easton fund-raising pageant
The 2014 Easton Pageant will be held Saturday, April 26, at 6 p.m. at the Easton High School. Tickets can be bought in advance from any of the Easton contestants or queens. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for students and seniors. Children 4 and under are free. They look forward to seeing you there! FMI 768-0798.
Science Center auction
The Aroostook Auction Barn in Easton will host a benefit auction on Saturday, May 3, donating 100 percent of the proceeds to the Francis Malcolm Institute’s fund-raising campaign. Most items will be accepted (no clothing please) such as antiques, furniture, appliances tools, toys, etc. Call 488-5451 or 540-5101 with any questions or to arrange a delivery/pick up of a donation.
Swim lessons start soon
Children in kindergarten (and those 4 and older who are not in ECP) will have the opportunity to take swim lessons on Wednesdays from April 30 through June 4. We will leave directly after their 1 p.m. dismissal and return in time to ride the after-school buses home. If any parents are available to help chaperone, it would be greatly appreciated. Grades one and up will have lessons on Tuesdays from April 29 through June 3, departing directly after school and returning at 4:30 p.m. The cost for both groups is $19.50, please make checks payable to the Town of Easton. Must meet minimum number of participants to run both programs.
April vacation activities announced
Tuesday, April 22 — A morning of jumping, climbing and lots of fun at the Caribou Rec. There is no fee for the bounce houses and track use; we will go to Pizza Hut for lunch following the program. The bus will depart at 9:20 a.m. and return by 1:30 p.m. The cost is $7 for Pizza Hut buffet and drink for children 13 and under.
Wednesday, April 23 — Swimming at Limestone Rec for free. The bus departs at 9:30 a.m. and will return by 12:30 p.m.
Indoor soccer tournament at Caribou Rec for grades 6-8. Departure time TBA. Sign up is required by Friday, April 18.
Thursday, April 24 — Kickball tournament for grades 4-6 at Caribou Rec. The bus will depart at 8:15 a.m., pre-registration required! Free.
Outing to Braden Theater to see a movie. The bus the departs at 12:30 p.m.; return time will be determined when movie is finalized. The cost is $5 for ticket, popcorn and soda.
Friday, April 25 — Dodge ball tournament at the Presque Isle Rec Department. This will be a fun morning of competitions. This is open to grades 3 through 8 only! Departure time TBA. Sign-up is required by Friday, April 18, in order to set up teams.
Trips will depart from/return to the hall. Be sure your child has appropriate clothing and money. Open to grades one and up unless specified.
Rec calendar
Wednesday, April 16 — Junior Activities 9:30-11 a.m. at the Hall for children ECP age and younger.
Thursday, April 17 — Adult field trip to the new restaurant in Fort Fairfield and then a tour of the Maple Moose in Easton. The bus departs at 10:30 a.m. Participants are responsible for their own fees.
After-school program “Easter Crafts” at the Hall from 2:45-4:15 p.m.
Friday, April 18 — Junior Activities at the Hall from 9:30-11 a.m. Senior Easter luncheon at the Manor at 11:15 a.m. The cost is $3.
Monday, April 21 — Holiday; Town Office closed and no Recreation Department activities!
Tuesday, April 22 — Fun Day at Caribou Recreation Department. The bus will depart at 9:20 a.m. and return at 1:30 p.m.
