UMPI hosts Science Lunchtime Seminar Series

The University of Maine at Presque Isle will host a Science Lunchtime Seminar Series on Tuesday, April 22 and April 29. Both seminars will run from 12:15-1:30 p.m. and will meet in 201 Folsom Hall. Dr. Kevin McCartney will deliver a presentation titled “Silicoflagellates,” which will focus on the research he has done into the single-celled organism that live in ocean waters on the 22nd. Dr. McCartney is a professor of geology at UMPI.
Dr. Scott Dobrin will present “Experience-dependent brain plasticity: How what you do today affects who you are tomorrow” on the 29th. Dr. Dobrin is an assistant professor of biology at UMPI.
The seminars provide a forum to present scientific research, as well as management and applied science, conducted by UMPI students and faculty and other local and regional scientists. Faculty, students, staff and community members are welcome to attend this free seminar and are encouraged to bring their lunches.
