    The Caribou Men’s Basketball League will wrap up its playoffs later this month.
The post-season got under way April 7. In the quarterfinal round, Griffeth Ford stopped Pelletier Property Services, 88-52, behind Ghent Holdsworth’s 31 points and 17 more from Mike Eaton. Josh Booth had 23 for PPS.
Loring Job Corps tipped Shock Wave United, 66-61, as Jaquan Jackson tallied 25 points to lead the winners. Jordan Guy poured in 31 in the loss. Cameron York and Dillon Kingsbury had 23 and 22 points, respectively, as Time Warner Cable defeated AOE, 69-63. Ben Rosser netted 36 for AOE.
Fitzherbert’s Squad downed Gagnon’s Studio, 90-58, in the other quarterfinal contest, which was played last Wednesday. Eric Brown and Greg Whitaker were high scorers for Fitzherbert’s with 21 each, while Keith Edgecomb had 22 for Gagnon’s.
Also last Wednesday, Griffeth Ford advanced by topping Loring Job Corps, 65-60. Holdsworth notched a game-high 24 points and Joel Griffeth added 15 for the winners, while Kalvin Mathis totaled 21 for LJC.
On Monday, Fitzherbert’s Squad edged Time Warner Cable, 62-61, to move on to play Griffeth Ford in a battle of playoff undefeateds. Luke Bartlett fired in 19 points and Steven St. Peter and Whitaker chipped in with 16 each to power Fitzherbert’s. York had 31 for TWC.
Gagnon’s Studio stayed alive by eliminating AOE, 85-64, in Monday’s other contest. Jordan McLaughlin had 27 points and Tim Gagnon 19 to lead the victors. Rosser scored 22 and Dan Jandreau had 13 for AOE.
The playoffs continue this evening as Time Warner Cable plays Shock Wave United at 6 p.m. and Loring Job Corps takes on Gagnon’s Studio at 7 p.m. Both are loser’s bracket matchups.
Griffeth Ford and Fitzherbert’s Squad will meet up Monday, April 21 at 8 p.m., following another loser’s bracket game at 7 p.m.
The playoffs will continue through the end of the month and all games are played at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center.
The final regular season standings for the league, which began in late-October, are as follows: Griffeth Ford (21-7), Fitzherbert’s Squad (20-8), Time Warner Cable (19-9), Loring Job Corps (15-13), Shock Wave United (14-14), AOE (11-17), Gagnon’s Studio (10-18) and Pelletier Property Services (2-26).
