AUGUSTA, Maine — The Office of State Fire Marshal has released its findings on two of the three fires that occurred in Mars Hill on Dec. 1 and 4, and one in Blaine at Coach Paul Deschaine’s home on Dec. 2.
The fire at Deschaine’s home at 71 Robinson Road in Blaine was caused by a furnace malfunction, while the fire at Shane Kingsbury’s home at 5 Church St. in Mars Hill was caused by an improperly working pellet stove.
The fire at William Barton’s renovated home on 20 Silver St. in Mars Hill is still being investigated by the fire marshal’s office.
