Pioneer completes high speed Internet expansion

HOULTON — Pioneer Broadband has announced the completion of new DSL service in Blaine, Bridgewater and E Plantation.

These projects will provide high speed Internet service for private residences and businesses.
High Speed Internet service will be available to approximately 200 residents. Service areas include portions of the following roads, depending on the distance and service area of the terminal:
Bridgewater — Corner, Main and Old Houlton roads.
Blaine — School Street, Robinson, Trafford, Station, Grass and East Blaine roads; E Plantation, Military, Kinney, Old Houlton, Three Brooks Loop, Gillen, Folsom and a portion of the Bubar roads.
E Plantation — E Plantation, Warren and Ridge roads.
Typical monthly fees will be $44.95/month. Pioneer collaborated with the ConnectME Authority for project funds. The ConnectME Authority is a component unit of Maine state government whose mission is to facilitate the universal availability of broadband Internet service to all Mainers and help them understand the valuable role it can play in enriching their lives and helping their communities and businesses.
For years Pioneer’s motto has been, “Crossing the Digital Divide.” These new service areas are more major “crossings” in the overall network improvement for Pioneer’s Internet customers in rural Maine.
