NEW SWEDEN, Maine — Aroostook law enforcement are investigating an allegedly suspicious device found at an abandoned home in New Sweden.
Deputies and the Maine State Police Bomb Squad were on scene at approximately noon Monday after receiving a call from a concerned New Sweden resident, said Aroostook County Sheriff Shawn Gillen.
Gillen did not elaborate on the nature of the device but said that police found the device to be inert upon inspection. He also did not state the home’s address.
“We’re still investigating to find out how [the device] got there,” Gillen said.
