PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Presque Isle Historical Society is very pleased to announce that Steve Sweetser has been named “Director of the Year.” Sweetser was presented with a plaque at a special meeting of Presque Isle Historical Society’s Board of Directors on Jan. 12.
The Director of the Year is voted on by all directors via secret ballot and presented annually.
Sweetser has served on the Society’s Board since June of 2019. He was selected for his volunteer efforts on behalf of the Society. In addition to attending board meetings, Sweetser volunteers at many of the Society’s annual events and donates many hours helping to maintain and beautify the exteriors of the Maysville and Vera Estey House Museums. In addition, through his efforts, special group tours have been brought to the Maysville Museum.
Presque Isle Historical Society, an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit corporation, was founded in 1963. Its mission is to study, promote and preserve the history, culture, heritage and artifacts of Presque isle for present and future generations.
