ASHLAND, Maine — A 45-year-old Ashland woman was charged with several crimes earlier this month after investigators conducted a probation check at her home and allegedly found drugs in her possession.
Ashland Police Chief Cyr Martin said that Tracy Tompkins was charged with furnishing Schedule Z drugs and violation of conditions of release after police went to her home on April 2 at the behest of her probation officer.
The chief said that Tompkins was not allowed to consume alcohol or drugs as part of the conditions of her release on a prior charge.
He could not elaborate further on what the drugs were or how they were obtained.
Tompkins was taken to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.
Sgt. Jared Carney was the investigating officer.
Martin also confirmed that Tompkins’ home was the site of the unattended death of a 26-year-old Portage Lake man last month. The chief said on Friday that an autopsy was conducted on the man at the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta after his death on March 15, and police are awaiting toxicology results. Those could take several more weeks.
He said that no one has been charged in the matter and the investigation remains ongoing.
