BRIDGEWATER, Maine — A Presque Isle man was hospitalized following an accident on U.S. Route 1 on Sunday.
“A single-vehicle crashed occurred around 5 a.m. May 4 when Chad King, 40, of Presque Isle, lost control of his vehicle as he was heading south,” said Sgt. Brian Harris, Maine State Police.
According to Harris, King reportedly fell asleep, which caused him to cross the center line and travel into the opposite ditch.
“King’s vehicle, a 2004 Chevrolet Impala, struck a large rock and flipped over onto its side, sustaining significant damage. King was transported to TAMC via Crown Ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries,” said Harris.
Harris said speed was not a factor and King was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Trooper Dennis Quint was the investigating officer.
