HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton hockey team and individual players were recognized at the Class B North High School Ice Hockey Awards Banquet, held March 19 at the Morgan Hill Event Center in Hermon.
The following earned recognition at the event, said Karl Enroth, the Houlton cooperative high school ice hockey coach.
Junior forward Joelle Hanscom made the All Academic Team. She has a 4.0 grade point average and played in 16 games, scoring her first varsity high school goal.
Junior forward Konnor Lynds was name to the Honorable Mention team. He scored 15 goals, including 2 game winning goals, and added 6 assists in 17 games played.
Junior goalie Dawson Cole is a Second Team All Star. He led the league in goalie saves, with 696 saves in 17 games played in net with a save percentage close to .900.
Freshman forward Patrick Marino made the First Team All Rookie Team. Among the Houlton team leaders in points and minutes played, he finished the season collecting 3 goals and 6 assists in 18 games played.
The Houlton Hockey Team won the Team Sportsmanship Award for the Class B North 2022-23 season, as selected by the Class B Hockey Coaches Association.
Dawson Cole earned the Hobey Baker Award as the Houlton representative for exemplary character and sportsmanship. He was team captain, was Class B North First and Second All Team All Star the last two seasons and is an excellent student athlete with a 4.0 grade point average, Enroth said.
