Presque Isle native part of comedy show at CPAC
A Presque Isle native will be among the headliners at an upcoming comedy revue in Caribou.
Ryan Gartley will join two other comedians from the Boston area in a Headliners Comedy Show to be held at the Caribou Performing Arts Center on May 30 at 7 p.m.
Gartley grew up in Presque Isle and started his “hobby” as a comedian in 1999, the result of “peer pressure” from a cruise in Portsmouth Harbor, he explained. He has taken his comic talent on tour all across the country for the past 15 years, performing in clubs, colleges and bars from Maine to Las Vegas.
A former semifinalist in the Portland and Boston comedy festivals, Gartley has made a name for himself as one of the hardest-working acts on the scene, with his quick observations and dry, family-style humor. He is looking forward to his return to the Presque Isle area.
Also appearing with Gartley will be Mike McCarthy and Rob Steen, 25-year veterans of the comedy scene.
Advance tickets are $15 and can be purchased in Caribou at Paradis Shop ‘n Save, Sleeper’s and the Gulf On the Run/Caribou One Stop, and in Presque Isle at Bradley’s Citgo, Graves Shop ‘n Save and the Aroostook Centre Mall. Unsold tickets will be available at the door for $20.
