Daigle Oil Co. raises thousands for MDA

Daigle Oil Company, with the help of customers and employees, beat their fund-raising goal this year, raising nearly $4,500 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
From mid-February to mid-March every year, Daigle Oil Company’s DOC’s Place Citgo service stations and dealers in northern and central Maine rally employees, friends and customers to support the company’s annual shamrock campaign to benefit the MDA. This year, Daigle Oil’s DOC’s Place locations and dealers sold $1 and $5 paper shamrock mobiles and transformed windows, walls and doors to match the St. Patrick’s Day theme. The money raised allowed the company to make a record-breaking donation to the local MDA chapter.
“We’ve been able to grow our donation to MDA with each passing year, thanks to the dedication of our DOC’s Place Citgo staff. The generosity of our customers to help expand MDA programs in the area is astounding,” said Daigle Oil Company Brand Manager Sonya Dechene LeBoeuf. “We more than doubled our MDA fund-raising figures this year. I want to acknowledge DOC’s Place Citgo managers, attendants and our loyal customers who made this incredible accomplishment possible.”
Seven DOC’s Place Citgo stations and three Daigle Oil Citgo dealers participated in the 2014 MDA shamrock promotion. After the final fund-raising tally for this year’s campaign, the DOC’s Place Citgo station in Fort Kent stood out among the crowd. Last year, participating locations raised approximately $2,000 for MDA. The Fort Kent location reached that mark on its own in this year’s campaign. Cumulatively, the seven Daigle Oil Citgo locations and three dealers — including a branch in Presque Isle — raised almost $4,500 for MDA this spring.
“Citgo not only provides our customers with better fuel options, but also helps us connect with our community. We’re glad to support MDA programs benefiting families in Maine any way that we can,” added Pat Nadeau, manager of DOC’s Place Citgo in Fort Kent.
