Florida man pleads guilty to drug trafficking in Houlton, Bangor

BANGOR, Maine — A Florida man pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Bangor April 27 to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Rogelio Rios, 34, and co-conspirators distributed methamphetamine from Florida in locations around Bangor and Houlton from May to July 2018, according to court records.

Law enforcement stopped a truck Rios was driving on July 12, 2018. A co-conspirator was a passenger in the vehicle. Police searched the vehicle and found multiple grams of methamphetamine and nearly $20,000 in cash in the passenger’s bag, court records said.

 Rios faces a minimum of five years and maximum of 40 years in prison, and a fine of up to $5 million. 

He will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office.
