FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — Three people were arrested Tuesday in two separate drug trafficking instances in Fort Fairfield.
Around 7 p.m. on June 13, officers stopped a vehicle driven by Daniel Boucher, 36, of Presque Isle on the Bryant Pond Road for an alleged traffic infraction. One passenger, 30-year-old Cierra Soucier of Fort Fairfield, attempted to flee on foot while officers spoke with Boucher, according to Fort Fairfield Police Chief Matthew Cummings.
Officers detained Soucier and Boucher and found them to be in possession of fentanyl, Cummings said.
Boucher was transported to Aroostook County Jail in Houlton. He is being charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, refusal to submit to arrest or detention and for violating probation related to a prior arrest.
Soucier was transported to the Caribou Police Department for holding and awaits a court appearance. She has been charged with trafficking in scheduled drugs and violating conditions of release.
Soucier had been arrested in Caribou four days earlier for possession of scheduled drugs.
At 11 p.m. that same night, Fort Fairfield officers stopped a vehicle driven by Timothy Hersey, 40, of Caribou on Elm Street for an alleged traffic infraction. Hersey also tried to flee on foot but was caught by officers, Cummings said.
Hersey was arrested and charged with refusal to submit to arrest or detention and unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs, which included fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Hersey was transported to Caribou Police Department, where he was able to post a $5,000 unsecured bail. He will appear at Presque Isle Unified Court on Aug. 9.
