The Miss/Mr. Van Buren pageant was held Saturday, May 27, at the Van Buren High School Auditorium for a night of “Peace, Love and Pageants.”
Directors Tina Belanger, Megan Cormier, Ceairra Orr and Erica Ouellette are no strangers to pageants and have a combined total of over 40yrs pageant experience. This year’s pageant raised money for the Class of 2026 and the Austin James West Memorial Scholarship.
A total of 17 contestants competed in the interview, photogenic, casual wear and evening wear categories. Talent presentations were optional.
The newly crowned queens and king are: Petite Miss, Olivia Hackett; Little Miss, Emma Dolan; Pre-teen Miss, Kadence Cormier; Junior Miss, Rylie Bouchard; Teen Miss, Victoria McGarrah, Miss Van Buren, Saige Michaud; and Mr. Van Buren, Gabriel Power.
“Our king and queens have an exciting year ahead of them, with a summer full of community service, parades and Potato Blossom Festival events,” said Megan Cormier.
The group will also host a Nutcracker Booth at the Christmas in July event in Van Buren on July 29 to raise money for the Miss Van Buren scholarship fund. The booth will feature games, a craft and hair tinsel.
