Aroostook’s Single G. — John R. Braden, 2.02 ¾, the flying Presque Isle horse, may properly be termed “Single G. of Aroostook.” Such a term would indeed be a complement to any horse, as few horses at 14 years of age, the age of Single G., can put in such races as he put in at Toledo August 11 — 2.00, 2.00 ¼ and 2.01 ¼. John R. Braden seemed to be built of the same kind of stuff, being able to put in mile after mile in race after race close to his record, and also being able to race as a sound, cheerful, all-right and effective horse after most of his competitors had been driven from the track by weaknesses and lamenesses.
