PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Presque Isle Rotary Club is excited to announce MMG Insurance has recently donated $10,000 to the club in support of the Presque Isle Rotary Amphitheater project, which aims to construct a new, multi-purpose, permanent structure to host performing arts and cultural events.
“The amphitheater will be a great addition to the community,” said Chantal Pelletier, immediate past president of the Rotary Club and an assistant manager at MMG Insurance. “Amenities like this truly enhance quality of life for residents of central Aroostook. I’m so pleased that MMG recognized the value of this project and chose to support it.”
The amphitheater will be located in downtown Presque Isle and will have grassy, level ground surrounding it to allow for plenty of seating at gatherings, concerts, and plays. The Rotary Club hopes that the amphitheater continues the positive momentum that has occurred in this part of the city over the last several years.
“We are excited to be bringing another venue to the Riverside Park area,” said Jordyn Madore, this year’s president of the PI Rotary Club. “It is not only a symbol of our club’s commitment to the community, but hope amenities like this will also bring new businesses, new people, and new events to Presque Isle. We are hopeful that it will be another contributor to our area’s social and economic success.”
Fundraising for the amphitheater project began earlier this year with a goal of approximately $400,000. Groundbreaking will happen once the project is fully funded. To date, the club has raised just over $50,0000 and is actively seeking donations. All donors of $250 or more will be recognized with a name plate affixed to the amphitheater.
