PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — There are a few new faces at the Presque Isle Police Department, following the recent hiring of a dispatcher and a new patrol officer.

“Jessica Guy is our new dispatcher. She replaced Amber Cole, who left a few weeks ago,” said Chief Matt Irwin, of the PIPD.
Prior to joining the department, Guy worked as a dispatcher with the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office.
Irwin said the department will have one more dispatcher vacancy when another staff member retires.
“We’re in the process of hiring to replace Joan Carlson, who’ll be getting done in August,” he said.
The officer lineup has also undergone some changes this year, with Kaitlyn McLaughlin graduating from the Police Academy this spring, and two more officers scheduled to attend in the coming year.
“We hired Lucas Roy this spring. Prior to joining the force he worked at Clukey’s,” said Irwin.
Roy and Officer Lucas Hafford have yet to attend the academy but will do so in the near future.
“Lucas Hafford, who was hired earlier this year, will be going to the Police Academy in August. Lucas Roy will be the next to go. He’s scheduled to attend in January,” said Irwin.
