3-Day Outlook: Wednesday, Jan. 3-Friday, Jan. 5 

A cold front will approach today and cross the region tomorrow with increasing chances for snow showers tonight and a chance for snow showers over the course of the day Thursday. High pressure will briefly build in on blustery northwest winds Thursday night followed by increasing clouds Friday as another cold front approaches the region. This front will usher Arctic air into the Valley with temperatures falling into the mid-single digits above Friday night.

Apex Wx Daily Summary 

Today: Mostly cloudy with a high around 33. West-southwest wind 4-5 mph.

Tonight: Cloudy with a 30 percent chance for snow showers after midnight. Low near 21. South-southwest wind 0-5 mph.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance for snow showers. 1-2-inches snowfall possible. High around 28. Northwest wind 4-6 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly to partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance for snow showers, mainly in the evening. Blustery with a low near 8. Northwest 10-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph. Wind chill values -5 to -10 below. 

Friday: Party cloudy to partly sunny with a high around 18. Wind becoming west 10-15 mph with gusts to 5 mph. Wind chill values 5 above to 5 below.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with a low near 5. Northwest wind 8-14 mph.

4- to 7-Day Outlook: Saturday, Jan. 6-Tuesday, Jan. 9 

High pressure building into the East Coast brings partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies over the Saint John Valley Saturday. Clouds increase Sunday ahead of strong low pressure area tracking off the Mid-Atlantic early next week. Currently, the low looks to track out-to-sea to the south of Cape Cod, so some snow showers are are possible Sunday afternoon into early Monday. High pressure brings partly cloudy skies to the Saint John Valley next Monday with partly cloudy skies across the SJV Tuesday.
