The Southern Aroostook Soil and Water Conservation District will host a meeting of the USDA Local Working Group at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
The meeting will be held at the USDA Service Center, 304 North St., Houlton, and the public is encouraged to participate.
Local working groups provide input to the department of agriculture’s National Resource Conservation Service district conservationist on local natural resource concerns and funding for those programs under the USDA Farm Bill. Topics of discussion will include prioritizing conservation concerns for Southern Aroostook for fiscal year 2025.
For those unable to attend the meeting, written comments will be accepted via email. Written comments must be submitted to angela.wotton@me.nacdnet.net no later than Tuesday, Jan. 23.
