    PRESQUE ISLE – Mary Louise (Ward) Lewandowski, 78, died peacefully Tuesday, July 22, 2014, in Bangor, after a brief illness. She was born May 4, 1936, in Mapleton, ME, a daughter of the late Roy and Irene (Archer) Ward.
    Mimi graduated from Mapleton High School in 1954. She married Robert T. Lewandowski on October 31, 1959, and together raised two children, Rene and Tom. Being an Air Force wife, she traveled with her family to various locations around the world. She was an eight-year survivor of lung cancer. Mimi enjoyed knitting, was an avid crossword puzzler and loved her husband deeply as well as her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
    She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert Lewan-dowski of Presque Isle; a brother, John Ward of Freeport, FL; a daughter, Irene Farha of Urbana, IL; a son, Thomas Lewandowski of Merrimack, NH; five grandchildren, Amanda (LaClair) Caron, and Ryan, Cody, Noah, and Matthew Lewandowski; and two great-grandchildren, Austin and Jude Caron.
    In lieu of flowers, donations in Mimi’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
