PIHS announces important dates

    PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Officials at Presque Isle High School have announced several important dates for the start of the upcoming fall semester. Dates include:
Monday, Aug. 11 — Guidance Office opens for the 2014-15 school year. Office hours are 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Call 764-7721 to make an appointment with one of the three guidance counselors.
• Tuesday, Aug. 12 — Health Office opens for the 2014-15 school year. Office hours are 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Students transferring to PIHS must begin the registration process in the SAD 1 Health Office. Call 764-8105 to schedule an appointment.
• Tuesday, Aug. 12 — Parent Orientation from 7-8:30 p.m. in the auditorium. This orientation is for all parents whose student will be entering PIHS as a freshman or as a transfer student.
• Wednesday, Aug. 13 — New Student Orientation from 9 a.m.-noon in the auditorium. This orientation is for all students who will be entering PIHS as a freshman or as a transfer student.
• Monday, Aug. 18 — In-service day for PIHS faculty only. School is closed to students.
• Tuesday, Aug. 19 — In-service day for PIHS faculty and staff. School is closed to students.
• Tuesday, Aug. 19 — PIHS Open House from 6:30-8 p.m. The Open House provides an opportunity for parents to meet their child’s teachers and go from class to class as their students will on the first day of school.
• Wednesday, Aug. 20 — First day of school for PIHS students.
