PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Following a few revisions and a bit of collaboration between finalists, Presque Isle police now have a new department patch for their uniforms.
“We just completed the patch design process and have a final design that will become our new uniform patch,” said Chief Matt Irwin, of the PIPD.
Irwin expressed gratitude for the many entries received and the efforts of two of the top vote-getters, Jeff Ouellette and Lynn Cote.
“I can’t thank Jeff and Lynn enough for their contributions to this project and sharing their creativity with us. Jeff is clearly an incredible artist who truly captured what the department was trying to attain. Lynn’s concept for the balloons celebrating Presque Isle’s Crown of Maine Balloon Festival really made a great contribution to the overall appearance and design,” Irwin said. “Jeff produced what I think is a wonderful-looking patch that truly represents Presque Isle and this northern Maine community.”
