CARIBOU, Maine — The Caribou Tech Center is excited to announce this year’s Student of the Year. This young man has been a Caribou Tech Center student for the past two years. This year he is graduating from the Caribou High School with High Honors and is a member of the National Honor Society.

During the 2022-23 school year he was an eager and committed EMT student while at the same time taking night classes to become a certified nurses assistant. This year he is a student in the criminal justice program and has been accepted to several biology programs with scholarships, including UMass-Amherst.

We are thrilled to announce that the Caribou Tech Center Student of the Year is Karson Reidy. He is described by his teachers and fellow students as outgoing, charismatic and a true leader. Reidy has ambitious goals and sets high academic standards for himself. He takes pride in community service projects and leads his fellow students in projects like the School Safety Assessment and the upcoming Future First Responder Run.

Reidy is more than just a student. He is a hard working, inquisitive and dedicated first responder in our community. He is currently employed at Cary Medical Center working as a CNA, Emergency Department technician and respiratory therapy aide. Reidy also works in the Intensive Care Unit and goes above and beyond to provide support and care for patients. He is a junior firefighter and EMT for the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department. This job has many responsibilities including weekly fire training, running the department dispatch, and providing back-up for emergency situations. Reidy is currently enrolled in the Firefighter 1 & 2 certification course.

He is more than deserving of this award. Reidy is well known as a student who engages in the classroom, a friend who loves to have fun, and a first responder dedicated to serving his community. His focus, dedication and caring nature make us all at the Caribou Tech Center proud to call him one of our students. On behalf of all of the teachers and students here at the Tech Center, Congratulations!
