Kevin and Kristi Brannen take great pride in the making of their products and now they have the blue ribbons to prove it. 2013 was a great year for Spring Break Maple & Honey as they received top honorss for their maple candy and maple cream plus second and third place for their maple syrup and granulated maple sugar.

They also received the Business of the Year Award from Southern Aroostook Development Corporation. SADC recognizes a company every year for their success, growth and commitment to the area.
Spring Break’s maple candy was voted the best maple candy in North America at the International Maple Syrup Institute annual meeting in October 2013. “This is our greatest achievement,” says Kristi Brannen “as we competed against 13 U.S. states and four Canadian provinces.”
But awards are not where Spring Break Maple & Honey stops as they began expansion of a new processing facility last fall. “This facility will allow us to grow with our current customers, become more efficient and expand into new markets,” says Brannen. “We also updated our website with a whole new look that was designed by our son, Kendall.”
“We have added a new retail area as well which will allow us to display our product lines better and we will have samples of our products one day a week,” says Kristi Brannen. This new retail space also has a viewing window so their customers can see how they make their products. Maine-made gifts and unique gifts are still going to be their focus as well as customer service.
Spring Break Gift Shop also sells Leader Evaporator maple equipment and supplies. The Brannens have a well-stocked showroom with all the supplies, small evaporator and other equipment needed for making maple syrup.
