HOULTON, Maine — The F.A. Peabody Company, a leading insurance agency in Maine, has announced changes to its executive management team.
Gregg Swallow, current vice president of marketing & advertising will become the vice president of corporate development. While he will continue to assist in the overall marketing strategy for the company, his primary focus will be to manage capital projects, real estate and other development opportunities inside and outside of the insurance division.
“For over 20 years, Gregg has been instrumental to building the brand vision for the Insurance Division with unique themes and messaging important to success in today’s crowded insurance marketplace,” says Christopher Anderson, president of FAPCO. “Affordably differentiating our local independent agency brand in a world dominated by national direct writers who spend millions upon millions of dollars to drive consumers to call centers or the internet is extremely challenging and Gregg pulled it off!”
With this change in structure, FAPCO is proud to announce the promotion of Hollie McAfee to vice president of marketing. McAfee is currently the marketing director working with and reporting to Swallow. Swallow will be passing the baton to McAfee to fully embrace her new responsibilities in marketing and advertising along with her involvement on the executive management team.
McAfee started with FAPCO as a customer service representative for personal insurance in 1997. She then took some time off to build a family and, once time allowed, returned in 2012 on a part-time basis in a new assistant position created to better integrate digital marketing elements into the firm’s strategy. Initially, McAfee managed selected retail location’s digital sign messaging system as well as handling the firm’s social media presence. As she became more proficient, the scope of work broadened to include search engine optimization and website management. In 2022, she became a full-time marketing director working closely with Swallow, assisting in all aspects of marketing and advertising including budgeting, producer niche marketing, and advertising production and procurement.
Recently, McAfee became involved in a major sponsorship initiative with The Maine Eclipse. Her role with this project included maximizing the firm’s advertising reach to dovetail with the promotion of the Great American Solar Eclipse occurring across the state of Maine. She served on the Maine Eclipse marketing sub-committee and also led the effort to involve the faith-based community in the area of Maine most affected by the eclipse’s path of totality in the town of Houlton.
“Hollie’s understanding and engagement of all aspects of digital marketing continues to impress me,” exclaims Anderson. “Her leadership during the Maine Eclipse was impressive and I’m excited to have her step up to an executive management position with FAPCO.”
Swallow also serves in the Maine House of Representatives in the second non-concurrent session representing District 7 since 2018. He lives in Houlton with his wife Kristy.
McAfee lives in Hodgdon with her husband Tim and son DJ. She also has two grown children, Ellen and Caleb Lincoln of Hodgdon and Kevin and Emma McAfee of Houlton, and three grandchildren, Ava, Zoey and Josiah.
