CASWELL and LIMESTONE, Maine – Residents in Limestone and Caswell will vote in their next elected officials and for town and school budgets next week.
Limestone will hold its elections on Tuesday, June 11 in conjunction with the state primary election from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the town office at 93 Main St.
Two three-year terms are open on the Limestone Select Board. Incumbents Irma Labreck and Chris Durepo are running against candidates Timothy Busse, Troy O’Bar and Jesse Philbrick.
Tadd Devoe is running for a remaining two-year term on the Select Board to replace former board member Alan Mulherin, who stepped down last year to become interim town manager.
Two three-year terms are available on the Limestone school committee. One candidate, Danny Gahagan, is on the ballot. Amanda Gahagan is running as a write-in candidate to fill the second term.
Incumbent Chuck Kelley is running for a three-year term on Limestone Water & Sewer District’s board of trustees.
Limestone’s annual town meeting will be held Wednesday, June 12 at 6 p.m. at Limestone Community School’s auditorium for residents to vote on the 2024-2025 town and school budgets.
Caswell will hold its town meeting Thursday, June 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the Dawn F. Barnes Elementary School cafeteria at 1025 Van Buren Road.
Caswell residents will nominate and then elect Select Board and school committee members during the town meeting, said Town Clerk Paula Lynn Peers.
