Yarmouth cruises past Caribou to win Class B baseball title

The No. 2 Yarmouth Clippers would not be denied on Saturday in Gorham, dominating No. 6 Caribou 8-1 in the Class B baseball title game one year after coming up just short versus Old Town.

Up against a red-hot Caribou squad, Yarmouth snapped B North’s five-season undefeated streak in the state final, bookending their 2017 title run.

Senior Sam Bradford was the Clippers starting pitcher, striking out three and allowing one earned run — an RBI groundout for Caribou senior Edison Sleeper in the top of the sixth. 

Yarmouth outhit Caribou 8-2, and also benefited from eight Viking errors, scoring three runs in the fourth, two in the fifth and two in the sixth. 

Caribou finished the season 12-8, Yarmouth finished 16-4.
