    STEPHENSON, VA & WASHBURN, ME – Gerald Linwood “Tom” Vaughan, III, age 69, died Friday, August 29, 2014, at Winchester Medical Center after battling a long illness. Mr. Vaughan was born in 1944 in Farmington, ME, the son of Margarett Vaughan Allen and the late Gerald Linwood Vaughan, II.
    He was a 1964 graduate of Washburn High School and a veteran, having served in the U. S. Army. He was employed by Rich Foods for 22 years. Tom was a great husband, father, and friend. He will be missed as part of our lives. He married Pauline Carman Vaughan on June 12, 1965, in Washburn, ME.
    Surviving with his wife of 49 years and his mother are two sons, Gerald Linwood Vaughan, IV and Andrew Michael Vaughan, both of Stephenson, VA; one grandchild, Courtney Lynn Vaughan; and a sister, Linda Bragg and husband, Merle of Wade, ME; as well as several nieces, nephews and many close friends.
    He was preceded in death by a nephew Jonathan Bragg and a great nephew Riley Bragg.
    All services with Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, will be private following Tom’s request.,He will be laid to rest in Washburn, ME, at a later date.
