Cutler campaign announces statewide chairs
PORTLAND, Maine — Independent for Governor Eliot Cutler told a packed house of supporters at Ocean Gateway recently that jobs and the economy are top priorities for a Cutler administration.
In addressing why Maine continues to lag behind the rest of New England, Cutler said politics as usual will continue to hurt Maine.
Cutler said, “We need bold reforms and strong, independent leadership. We need new and good ideas. I don’t care where good ideas come from if they benefit Maine and create opportunities for Maine people. I don’t care whether they come from Democrats, Republicans or Independents. Good ideas are good ideas. It’s that simple.”
The following are a list of statewide co-chairs:
• Democrats: Dennis Damon, former state senator and county commissioner, Trenton; Alan Casavant, mayor and representative, Biddeford; Marge Medd, former Democratic candidate for State Legislature, former member of State Board of Education, Norway; and Eleanor Kinney, Bremen;
• Republicans: Pat Flood, Representative, Winthrop; Sherry Huber, former state legislator, former candidate for governor, Falmouth; Tim Hussey, Kennebunk; and Emily Smith, Presque Isle; and
• Independents: Michael Malloy, Auburn; General Earl Adams, Pittston; Tom Lie-Nielsen, Warren; Julia Munsey, Bangor; and Bill Burke, Cape Elizabeth.
