The Mapleton Little League has one week left of its regular season.  Thursday, July 25, at 5:30 p.m., Langley’s Team will play Mapleton Oil.  Monday at 5:30 p.m., it’s Buck Construction vs. SMO and Buck Farms vs. Porter Farms, while Mapleton Lions Club plays Mapleton Oil.  The 5:30 p.m. game for Tuesday will be Buck Farms vs. Langley’s Team while Porter Farms will practice at 6 p.m. on the right field.

Wednesday will see a double-header evening with Porter Farms playing Buck Farms, while Mapleton Lions Club plays SMO.  Thursday is the last day of the regular schedule and has Mapleton Oil playing Buck Construction at 5:30 pm with Langley’s Team practicing. Friday will be used for any make-up games that needed to be rescheduled as a result of weather problems earlier in the week.

Annual Mapleton Little League Tournament play begins on Monday, Aug. 5, at 5:30 p.m. with two games, then one game on Tuesday and two games on Wednesday, Aug. 7.  Aug. 8 and 9 will be used for make-up days should weather create problems.

The two top winners of this tournament bracket will meet on Monday, Aug. 12, at 5 p.m. to play for the championship.  Again, should bad weather be an issue, the game will be postponed to the next evening.

Mapleton Rec picnic

The Mapleton recreation program for the summer will come to an end on Monday, Aug. 12, with three big events. Following the Little League championship will be the fun and action-packed home run derby.  Hitters from all of the teams will put on a slugfest to see who will win.

Following the derby, awards and recognitions will be presented to all participants. One of the highlights will be the presentation of trophies to the Little League Championship and runner-up teams as well as the recognitions of most valuable players from each team.

After the presentations, the picnic will start.  The Mapleton Lions Club will grill hot dogs and provide drinks.  Families attending are asked to bring a side dish to share. The picnic is like a big potluck and is open to all participants and their families.

Please check https://www.facebook.com/MapletonRecDept for more information about the picnic.

On really hot days the pool free swim hours are from 2 to 6:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 1 to 4:45 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. There is no charge for the pool and it is open to everyone.
