FORT KENT, Maine – Fort Kent Police are currently searching for two individuals who they believe are connected to a warehouse burglary at the town’s industrial park.
Police last week arrested Peter Beaulieu, 42, of Fort Kent in connection with the incident. Police charged Beaulieu with burglary, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, and violation of conditions of release. Additional charges, according to the police, may be pending.
Beaulieu was taken to Aroostook County Jail on August 28, the day of his arrest, and his bail was set at $2,500.
The arrest is a result of a month-long investigation of a warehouse burglary at the town’s industrial park. According to a media release from the department, there appeared to be a forced entry into the warehouse. All together, police said an estimated 400 pounds of copper pipe and fittings were stolen, which is worth roughly $1,600.
Police executed a search warrant at a home on Violette Settlement Road, and seized items that were allegedly linked to the case. They were granted a second search warrant which led to the seizure of drugs, cell phones and hard drives. Following these searches, multiple warrants were issued.
The investigation is being led by Officer Alex Hart with assistance from Fort Kent Police Chief Michael DeLena.
DeLena said on Sept. 3 that the investigation is ongoing and that they are still searching for Brianna Berry, 31, of Van Buren, and Ariel Rosado, 47, of Van Buren. He said both are believed to be connected to the burglary.
