We the people lose

To the editor:

O.K., my fellow New Englanders, I get it. You support Biden and Harris while I support Trump and Vance. Now let’s talk: I know deep in my heart that Mr. Trump is far from my “ideal candidate” to lead a nation I love and have defended during four years of military service during Vietnam many, many years ago. Accordingly, I know that the majority of you are not stupid and would admit that Kamala would not be your top choice to lead our great nation. So, why are we saddled with the choice of bad or worse?

We are a nation of some 345 million people. We have men and women with IQs in the 180-200 range. We have former politicians with summa cum laude degrees from West Point and MIT (Pompeo). We have brain surgeons who have excelled in the saving of lives for 20 and 30 years (Carson). We have current state governors who follow in the steps of their fathers as Ivy League scholars (Sununu), We have retired military generals and colonels with such worldwide acuity almost impossible.

Yet, here we are asked to select Trump, a non-veteran dude born with the million-dollar spoon Daddy passed along, or Harris, the gentleman’s escort” and Biden cheerleader. What choice is this nation offering us, folks? Once again, it looks like the little people (you and I) lose.
