Golf winners named
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The list of winners for the 2014 golf season has been released by Presque Isle Country Club professional Barry Madore.
Club champions were named in 11 divisions. Junior-junior, Libby Boone; junior, Robbie Watson; ladies B Flight, Susan Black; C Flight, Susan Maynard; senior ladies, Black; men’s A Flight (match play), Phil Pelletier; A Flight (medal play), Ralph Michaud; B Flight, Bruce Sargent; C Flight, Frank Marmanik; senior men, Pelletier; super senior, Frank Keenan.
Taking the President’s Cup on the ladies’ side was Kathy Maynard, with Peter Coffin taking top honors for men.
Greg Thompson and Scott Wyman were victorious in the memorial tournament. The husband-and-wife champions were Tony and Kati Roy for gross and Ed and Kathy Maynard for net.
The Couples Night Cup went to John and Kelly Cole.
For parent-child senior flight, Michael and Karson Eaton came in first, with Ray and Libby taking top honors for the junior flight.
For the Ladies Twilight League, Alexis Madore and Nancy Carvell were the winners, while on the men’s side, Ray Boone and Norm Kinney were victorious.
The 46th Coca-Cola Spudland Open winners were Greg Martin for low gross and Steven Smith for low net. Michaud won the Joseph J. Freeman Award for the low gross score for PICC members.
Most improved golfers were Monica Bearden and Steven Griffin.
Five holes-in-one have been recorded so far: Rick Collins on hole No. 8 on May 9, Jordan Hallett on hole No. 4 on May 22, Ryan Umphrey on hole No. 17 July 17, Noah Duprey on hole No. 17 Aug. 4 and Marmanik on hole No. 8 on Sept. 2.
