Saucier supports people
regardless of party affiliation

To the editor:
With each election cycle we get to set the direction for our community, our state, and our nation. For me it is important that my local representative in Augusta cast each and every vote in the best interest of the majority of the constituents back home, not just with those with the same party affiliation. To that end I support the candidacy of Robert Saucier.

Bob Saucier has served the citizens of Presque Isle well in the past two years. He voted for the responsible bipartisan state budget that repaired some of the damage done to our community in the prior years and voted to override the veto that threatened that bipartisan work. He supports continued restoration of revenue sharing funds, the cuts to which forced loss of local services and higher property taxes.
He is an avid supporter of our local schools voting 100 percent for the issues that were important to MSAD 1 and won the support of the Maine Educational Association for his work. He supported the efforts to expand affordable health care and to restore affordable mail order prescriptions. He supports the much needed increase in the minimum wage and voted to help the laid off workers at Maine Military.
He recognizes the hard and often thankless work of our local public employees (teachers, municipal, and state) and fought hard to restore to retirees that which was taken from them. Having worked at Social Security he understands the issues surrounding retirement both at the federal and state level. And he supports the veterans, understanding the sacrifices they have made for all of us and the difficulties they encounter getting the services they need.
Bob’s support for these issues is support for real people. We may not all be individually impacted by what goes on in Augusta, but those who are and will be in the future live or work right here in Presque Isle. Bob will represent all of us, regardless of party affiliation or political beliefs.
